Student research

Student research at the Institute of Educational Science is characterised by a strong research orientation and a practical approach. Students acquire the ability to analyse and design complex learning and advisory processes in various organisational contexts based on scientific principles. The programme places particular emphasis on the application of empirical research methods, which are taught through modules and tested in practical projects.

A central component of the programme is a research or practice internship, ideally aligned with the institute's research focus. Throughout their studies, students develop conceptual ideas and evaluate development and innovation processes within organisations. They are also involved in the execution of research projects, where transdisciplinary dialogue skills and adherence to research quality standards are actively promoted.

Inquiry-based learning is supported through interactive teaching and learning methods such as discussions, project work, and presentations. Students also have the opportunity to define their own research priorities within the elective areas of the programme. The final thesis at the end of the studies represents the culmination of student research and requires the independent production of a scholarly paper, and in some cases, the execution of a research project framed for this purpose. The programme concludes with an oral examination that reflects upon and finalises the course of study.
